Browser and MIDI requirements

Without MIDI, or on a browser that doesn't support it, everything still works — tap the on-screen keys or use your computer keyboard's letter keys (c, d, e, f, g, a, b) to answer.

Troubleshooting MIDI

1. Use a Chromium-based browser on desktop (see table above).
2. Connect your keyboard before loading the page, or reload the page after connecting.
3. Allow the MIDI permission prompt if your browser shows one.
4. Close other apps (DAWs, other browser tabs running the drill) that might be holding an exclusive lock on the same MIDI device.

Accounts, streaks, and data

Neither the web trainer nor Clef for iOS needs an account. On the web, your best streak is saved only in your browser's local storage — clearing your browser's site data will reset it, since there's no server-side copy. In Clef for iOS, your practice data, streaks, and scheduling live on your device, and sync through your own iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled. Subscriptions and purchases

Treble and bass single-note reading drills stay free in Clef for iOS. The full training system is available as Annual ($39.99/year, about $3.33/month, billed annually), Monthly ($6.99/month), or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($99.99). If you bought the original one-time $9.99 unlock, you keep everything you paid for, forever, at no extra cost.

Purchases and subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account. To manage or cancel a subscription: open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then select Clef. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Refunds are handled by Apple, not Clef; request one through reportaproblem.apple.com or your purchase history in Settings.

Clef for iOS

Clef for iOS is live on the App Store: treble and bass note reading, ledger lines, intervals, key signatures, five-finger patterns, triads, scales and arpeggios, MIDI keyboard input, and a spaced-repetition scheduler that resurfaces what you're forgetting.
